BCB Engage is an ongoing campaign to raise awareness, educate and help women participate in the crypto and blockchain space. At a time when this nascent technology has the capability to transform our global future, we believe it’s important women get involved so they’re not left without a voice, they do have a say in how this new world will be built and they are included in the wealth that will be created in this space.
‘We want to open up choices for women. This begins on our own doorstep, in taking action which directly aligns with our firm’s core values – integrity, innovation and inclusion to solve the most pressing issues of today.’ – Vian Sharif, BCB Group Seed Foundation Partner
Based on findings from an international Quartz survey of 378 venture-backed crypto and blockchain companies founded between January 2012 and January 2018, roughly 8.5% had a woman on the founding team. eToro’s recent survey on participation levels of female investors in cryptocurrencies also showed just 8.5%.
At BCB Group we have chosen to act to do our part in redressing this gender imbalance with BCB Engage. We’re committed to encouraging financial inclusion and deliver a bespoke capability designed for women and aimed at providing female investors to learn about and access cryptocurrencies.
We aim to shine the spotlight on the work so many incredible women are doing in the crypto and blockchain space to raise awareness of the variety of projects, the quality of the work, the contribution that is being made in changing our world and to encourage more diversity into this space.
BCB Engage provides a platform for accessing educational insight, from shared content and market analysis to exploration of technology and case studies. Collaboration with other initiatives, communities and shared events are also part of our commitment to supporting and connecting women, fostering talent, networking, mentoring and investment opportunities.
BCB Engage provides a personalised service, support throughout the engagement process, and seamless access to established cryptocurrency trading services specifically for the underrepresented female sector. The firm’s established trading platform provides access to some of the world’s largest cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple XRP. The aim being to redress this gender imbalance.
We imagine a crypto and blockchain landscape where women are equally represented in terms of participation, leadership and community.
